Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) is a major manufacturer of two-wheelers in India. The company is well-known for its skills in R & D item creation method design and low-cost manufacturing. The company is the leading maker of two-and three-wheelers in the country. The company's three international affiliates are Bajaj Auto International Holdings BVPT, Bajaj Indonesia, and Bajaj Auto (Thailand) Ltd.

When did Bajaj Auto debut?

M/s Bachraj Trading Corporation Private Limited was started on November 29, 1945, as Bajaj Auto. In 1948, Bajaj Auto began producing international two- and three-wheelers in India. In 1959, the Indian ministry authorized Bajaj Auto to manufacture two- and three-wheelers. In 1960, Bajaj Auto created a public limited business. In 1970, Bajaj Auto produced its 100,000th vehicle. In 1971, Bajaj Auto created a three-wheeled freight transporter. In 1977, the company created the Rear Engine Auto Rickshaw. On January 19, 1984, the cornerstone was laid for Bajaj Auto's new facility at Waluj, Aurangabad.

Initiation by Bajaj

On November 5, 1985, Bajaj Auto began operations at its Waluj facility. In 1998, Bajaj Auto commenced production at its Chakan Pune factory. In November 2001, Bajaj introduced its flagship bike, the 'Pulsar.' Bajaj released the Caliber115 executive bike in February 2003. On February 20, 2008, Bajaj Holdings & Investments Ltd (BHIL, formerly BAL) was delinked into three enterprises in compliance with the Deal of Demerger. The holding company was involved in a variety of industries, including car coverage, investing, and others. Given the opportunities for growth in the automobile, wind energy, healthcare, and banking industries, the investment business divided its activities into three separate firms, allowing it to focus on its primary industries and increase its expertise.

Naming Of Bajaj Auto

The automotive industry of the owning firm, as well as all income and expenses, including holdings in PT Bajaj Auto Indonesia and a few other vendor firms, were transferred to Bajaj Investment & Holding Ltd. (BHIL). Bajaj Investment & Holding Ltd also received Rs 15000 million in profits and cash reserves. As part of the initiative, Bajaj Holdings and Investment Ltd was renamed Bajaj Auto Ltd. (BAL). The demerger was set for March 31, 2007, at the end of business hours. The company constructed a greenfield facility in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, on April 9, 2007. In its first year of operation, the company produced approximately 275000 automobiles.

Second Largest Sports Motorcycle Manufacture

The firm's vehicle production factory in Akurdi was shuttered on September 3, 2007, due to increased manufacturing costs. In November 2007, Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bajaj Auto, paid Rs 345 crore for a 14.51 percent stake in KTM Power Sports AG of Austria, Europe's second largest sports motorcycle manufacturer. The XCD 125 DTS-Si and the Three-wheeler Direct Infused Auto Rickshaw were debuted during the 2007-08 fiscal year. The Chakan plant produced about 2 million Pulsars in total. During the fiscal year 2009-10, the company raised its manufacturing capacity of motorized two and three wheelers by 300,000 units to 4260000 units.

Market Hit 2012

The Avenger 220 DTS-i KTM Duke 125 Discover 150 and Discover 125 were introduced in the industry. Throughout the fiscal year that ended March 31, 2012, the company plans to maintain its current output of 5040000 units each year.

Four-wheel vehicle research is ongoing, with the first product to use this system expected to hit the market in 2012. In 2012, Bajaj Auto teamed with Japan's Kawasaki in Indonesia. The Bajaj-KTM alliance unveiled a new luxury motorcycle type, the Duke 390cc, in 2013, with a price tag of Rs 1.83 lakh.

BBC Topgear Awards Winner

The firm, on the other hand, has won the BBC Topgear Awards for Bike of the Year. Bajaj Auto debuted the all-new Platina electric start 100 cc motorcycle to long-distance travelers in 2015. On August 8, 2017, Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorbikes UK announced a global cooperation in which Bajaj would maintain ties to the famous Triumph trademark and its fantastic bikes, allowing it to offer a wider selection of motorbikes in its home market as well as other foreign countries. In fiscal 2018, the company's Waluj Plant received the Confederation of Indian Industry's National Power Management Trophy 2017 for Outstanding Power Efficiency Operation (CII).

FY2020 was a season of gradual innovations for KTM. With the release of the RC125, the business has increased its presence in the 125cc luxury sports bike sector. Throughout FY2020, the company created Bajaj Auto (Thailand) Ltd as a sole proprietorship in Thailand to establish an International Business Center (IBC) and a research and development center.

The first quarter of FY22 was a difficult quarter; the rebound of the previous three quarters was undone by the second wave of COVID-19, which resulted in limitations and complete or part shutdowns. That led to lower local consumption, which was countered in part by robust exports throughout all major continents. On September 29, 2021, Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV (BAIH BV), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bajaj Auto Ltd based in the Netherlands, held a 47.99 percent stake in KTM AG. BV exchanged a 46.5 percent share in KTM AG for a 49.9 percent stake in Pierer Bajaj AG.
